Dr. Lisa Luna Schwarz was selected as principal of Remington Traditional Elementary School in July, 2008. She began her career as an elementary teacher and taught kindergarten, first and second grade. Dr. Luna Schwarz also worked as a Reading Specialist and a Special Education Teacher in the Francis Howell School District. During her tenure in Francis Howell, she taught middle school communication arts and served as a district MAP trainer. Dr. Luna Schwarz served as a Literacy Specialist and an Administrative Intern for Nipher Middle School in the Kirkwood School District. After receiving her Masters in Administration, she served as an administrator for five years in the Parkway School District as the K-12 Communication Arts Curriculum Coordinator, Title One Director and a middle school assistant principal.

Dr. Luna Schwarz received her Bachelors and both Masters degrees from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She received her Doctorate of Education from Maryville University. Dr. Luna Schwarz is a National S.E.E.D. (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Social Justice Trainer and was selected as a writer for the Missouri Model Communication Arts Curriculum for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She graduated from St. Louis Principal's Academy in June 2008 and served as an instructor for Maryville University's Educational Reading Program. Dr. Luna Schwarz is a member of the National Staff Development Council, International Reading Association, National Society for Hispanic Professionals and the National Association of Elementary Principals. She was recently selected to be a member of the National Staff Development Leadership Academy and will graduate in December 2012.

Dr. Luna Schwarz was born and raised in California. She moved to Missouri at the age of nineteen and is married with three wonderful children. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children, visiting her family in California and reading.
