The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released the lists, which are organized according to grade level, subject tested and size of school population. The lists include the Top 10 schools in different categories based on the percent of students who scored at the advanced or proficient levels on the spring 2008 MAP tests. Remington made the Top 10 lists in the following categories for elementary and middle schools with between 250 and 500 students:
- Communication arts – Fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades;
- Mathematics – Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades; and
- Science – Eighth grade.
Remington made the lists in 10 out of 14 possible categories and is tied with one other school in Missouri for the highest number of times appearing on this year’s 2008 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test. This is the 11th year Remington has appeared on the state’s Top 10 lists of highest performing schools.
